" My wife and I searched and researched boats for a year and a half looking for the right cruiser. She had a couple requirements: stability – she is a bit prone to seasickness, and a big bed. All we can say is thank you Clark, Cruiser Cat’s founder, owner and designer. His multihull design with a cavernous California King master suite was the answer.
Within minutes of going aboard my wife was seriously interested. We are both a bit particular in our own ways, but finally had found a vessel to at least have surveyed. We found a surveyor whom is one of the good guys. Around boats his whole life, U.S. Navy, vessel mechanic and certified surveyor. We were so excited; before he could put it on paper, I called him for his general opinion. “ Great ”, he says, “ impressive actually “. This was the first vessel he had ever surveyed that has no bubbles in the hull. While bubbles are not a huge concern, this was a tribute to the care and craftsmanship that went into her building.
Efficiency and effectiveness are two big words in business. This propulsion system knows its business. Push the throttles forward and the bow rises, turbos whine and she’s on plane. The hull design has a bit to do with this considering she’s powered by two Yanmar 4 cyl turbo diesels. Fuel consumption is surprising low for a 38 foot vessel with an almost 16 foot beam. Add to this the unmatched size and accessibility of the engine rooms, sacrificial skegs, and very little of the prop shaft underwater and I am a happy boater.
The interior is beautiful with cherry finish and Italian leather. Two nicely sized heads with shower up front. The two fully ample (even in my wife’s opinion) aft births each have private vanity with sink. Of course any cruiser in this class has kitchen and genset. The twin A/Cs – heat and dehumidify – keep it plenty cool, or cold if you like, even in the Florida Keys in July.
Cockpit is roomy and seats enough friends. The helm has helm and companion chairs with all the electronics for navigation and monitoring. The bow is of solid design with hatches you can get lost in. Plenty of room to set up your couple sized portable hammock. "
